Blog of course! So yes I am waiting for paint to dry and because I have been absolutely brilliant this week and I had completed all the task I had to do tonight (that I remembered to bring the paint for-stop laughing I already made two trips to the shop and yes I still didn't not bring everything I needed, can't you just feel the brilliantness!) Anywho everything is done but this one wall but it has to dry before I move on to the next step because someone hasn't been planning things well this month. But things will be getting better for the new computer is on its way. Yes a new computer because Maria may have snapped one morning after only getting a couple hours of sleep and bought a new Apple desktop. Yes Stacy I am referred to myself in the third person-mostly to dramatize the way I am feeling right now. Oh and they are having me do storytime tomorrow, that is going to be fun, I hope the cool people in the cafe give me coffee.
What the??

So yeah interesting week, and by interesting I say let's never repeat that again. Not that is was a bad week in terms that 20 years from now I will still be haunted by the stupid things that happened but it definitely took at mental toll on the brain there. I do remember going up to people and asking if they wanted anybody killed for I had that much frustration in me. (it's the Italian I think) But I calmed the rage within and no one died. Now everything seems to be fine and I discovered I haven't been outside to read in a very long time so that might help with the people must die attitude. Must get out by pool for mental sanity. Also borders today was pretty relaxing. I came into do storytime, and to my surprise I was 1/2 hour late, yet I didn't get in trouble for it because they changed the scheduled last minute and never notified me. mmm. And I was there before storytime actually started so all was good. That and only one boy came so we ditched the planned reading a read some Thomas the tank engine books. Then Chris and I shelved DVD's oh so many I want and I believe Chris is going to lone me his copy of Crash. hehe I love movies and TV series especially the british. There may have been several times where I had to stop and make sure the back of a DVD was okay. Nicole was passing out free samples always a plus, Jeff was walking around with a metal rod attached to his head with a sign that said go see spidey-3 today. I had the mud chocolate cheesecake for lunch with the berry cascade to drink, Anthony discovered water coming from the walls, Bill was only there for the last hour, and Tim was announcing Elton John randomly. Oh and we learn that pushing the walkie talkie over at the push to talk button doesn't actually make the walkie talkie talk. Thanks Joe for that discovery. So yeah I am tired of writing and am terrible about ending blogs. peace.

Remember

So I have remember my login for this blog and with starting the Photo Blog I think I would rather use this as the template. It has been awhile for some reason the computer and me talking to it just wasn't working this month. But Anywho, now I am back and writing. Which is odd because I am also writing a new story. Got up at 5:45am this morning to Drive Karen to the airport. Crazy waking before the sun rises nonesense. Though it was good. I made breakfast and roommates help me to each it all. Now I am in the middle of making rum balls from my failed rum fudge. I tried using Rum extract and less chocolate but it took all of of Mansfield Park to thicken and even then it is still kind of sticky. It taste great but must find a way to make it less sticky. Right now the answer is dipping it in chocolate while listening to music. I made lots of fudge and chocolate biscotti! I think it turned out quite well actually. Oh and Rachel I just got over 800 books in Librarything and I still have a 4 foot by 8 foot bookshelf to go! Karen and I decided to go ice skating. It was nice and cool and I did not fall down once but I almost ran into the skate guard. It was nice to pretend it was winter. Then I started to check some very inportant things on-line. And even though I cry every time I watch I still love it dearly. It inspires me. Tomorrow I hope to finishing editing my story that I started in college. It is so rough and old to me but it will be nice to get it down and move on to more interesting stories.

On another note I have been taking the discarded gels from the theatre and cutting them into snow flakes. Now it is snowing on half of me room. I am hoping that the next show might damage some yellows and reds and I can do flowers or leaves to help disguise the white wall.

Anywho time for bed long day tomorrow.

Internet!

Oh how I missed the interweb. A lot has happen over the past week. Last week was the two year mark of well a very difficult year. Nine people died, hearts were broken, the world shifted and there was a general sense of being lost and being overcome by events. Then there are the little things that I kind of forgot even happened like the accident Rachel I witnessed that pop up. On this week I like to do two things one call Coral and Rachel and two go somewhere and have some personal time. So this weekend I went camping by myself at Myakka River State Park. It was quite a lovely trip. The park is beautiful. I only went hiking on a couple of trails but I really want to save up for a bike and start biking again. They have a Canopy trail that is actually part of an on going research project. It is quite wonderful and you can look down on the trees and also look right through the canopy on the walkway between the two towers. This was my Friday night, then I ate dinner and read under the stars. I regret to say I was sleepy and fell asleep before the meteor showers peak. (But a group of us went out on Saturday after the Arts Event) Still seeing all the stars was enough. I would like to go back again. I found that the spanish moss reminds me of snow. Also I saw wild pigs (or hogs) Some deer, tons of birds including a bald eagle. A couple of alligators but I elected not to get to close to them. I find it weird to see the alligators then to see people putting their Kayaks in the water only ten feet away. Weird. Here are some pictures!

Stranger than Fiction rules!

Go see Stranger than Fiction it was great!! It reconnects me with long lost loved melodies. I have reach the point where I have so much music that I forget what I own sometimes. And yet still I want more, I must be a greedy person or maybe I am an explorer of over people's minds. Either way it was nice to come home, make some french toast, and then hit the swings surrounded by music. For the past couple of days I have been somewhere and thought I forgot, my wallet, my library card, my cable to the computer, only to realized after I had gone back to the place I left it, that I had something that would have worked just as well with me and there was no need for extra travel. While I would like to blame my blindness on otherthings, today I was determind to be more aware of what was happening around me. I think this showed int he fact that I answered my phone twice! (which many of you know is a rare thing) and was rewarded with a movie I had reserved and a conversation with Rachel! Perhaps that is why I am so happy with my music, or because the elections have come and gone. I don't know how it is in other states but down here the ads were getting really mean, and were aired on every commercial break sometimes twice! I don't even watch that much TV and it was scarying me. More that people can justify spending so much money on discrediting someone, I would get sick trying to edit those commercials. John Lennon's words ring in my head "Give peace a chance." I really don't want to hear why the other guy sucks, leave that to reports, let me know why I should like you, for I tend not to like people who call people names espeically so when you do it on billboards and huge TV screens it doesn't give me confidence in you character. okay enough venting. Time to work on some photos.

O-Zone is alive and well

And I don't mean the layer around the earth but the band. For example I just woke up half an hour ago. While very weird to sleep until 2:30pm the mind and body seem to enjoy. Today I don't go into work until 9pm -ish so while the crazy late nights are crazy late it is more like I work 10 hours after I get to work and take a few breaks inbetween. Too my days outside of work are usully filled with reading. I straighten up the apartment, cook myself some eggs with rosemary and read. Right now I am reading "What the Bleep do we know" apparently not a lot but have the ability to know tons! Actually it is an amazing book if you keep an open mind. It opens your mind to Quantuam Physics and seems to remind me of some ideas brought up in Hitchhiker's guide. (like the earth being a huge organic computer) and other things. It is a book more on how we view the world and how you are in control of the life you lead by how you perceive the world around you. Pretty interesting, like here is a quote from the "Why aren't we magician's chapter"-- "It is said that because Jesus never lied, and he would absolutly never do so, that when he said something, because he never lied, the universe had to comply." So yes there is a lot of comments that make you think about things the way Anciet Koan do but it raises questions (which all good books do) and doesn't make you feel like the universe is a horriable place to be. Also just the knowledge of Dr. Masuru Emoto's work on water crystals is enough to make the book worth wild. Which due to copyright laws I can't post a picture but do visit his website and look for yourself

http://www.masaru-emoto.net/

6:49am

So yes another post with a time as title indicating that I just got home. Well I really got home around 6:30 but there was the whole changing into cloths that are comfy and not covered in paint, I stress the later. Putting V8 and other snacking foods away yada yada yada. The set is looking cooler and cooler I was going to take a picture to post but between the brick grout and sanding I forgot. Today was nice though because Karen (who I might steal from Eric and make her a paint intern) stayed and helped me paint. Well more she was hairspraying plexi so the lighting designer doesn't yell at the set designing for for place 20 reflective surfaces center stage. But it was a huge help and she painted somethings black, and kept me from talking to my paint brushes for a little while longer. Also Eric was staying late to work on sound so he went for a Starbucks run (yes I know not the greatest but only place within walking distance of the theatre) we had a 5 dollar gift certificate each from Bari for helping with a funraising event so I ask him to get my the larges chai my card would buy. mmm so good. Then we painted ( Karen and I and Eric worked on sound. ) Before they left we had a chocolate eyeball break from Karen's Halloween care package, hmmm chocolate eyeballs, it is here we started to talk about restuarants we missed from home and how far was too far to drive for fresh krispy kremes. mmm okay I need to stop talking about food, and get some sleep tomorrow I paint the floor.

Camera luv

My passionate love affair with my camera is still going strong. Sunday was the last show of Six Dances Lessons, and Moon over Buffalo apparently started to move in during the Six Dance Lesson's Strike! I was excused from strike due to the fact I needed to paint. I didn't mind because I got to paint inside. I have been working during the day outside because the shop is too small to fit me, the set and the carpenters so outside I go. It really is not that bad until the afternoon. I have been developing a nice tan and almost got heat stroke one day. (A thunderstorm was going to hit and I was pushing to get everything painted before the rain. I figure I will just work until it starts raining and then take a real lunch break. Well it never rained so I didn't take a real lunch break which was fine because I did eat and was stopping to get water but I didn't reapply sunscreen and being overcast I didn't really feel the sun until it was too late. Luckly the heat hit me just about the time I was going to go home anyway so it worked out fine.) I need to expland my flickr account or post smaller pictures. Seriously I fill up the month allowance with a couple of pictures it is crazy. Here are a few of the show.

Full set
Originally uploaded by iamakaya.

Mid-tech

It is mid tech week and I heard one of the most beautiful things you can hear during tech. "you might have tomorrow night off" :-0 Now I doubt this true but still it is pretty exciting and even if I don't have off I might only have to come in for an hour or so. Happy dance! I am going to take pictures tomorrow of the lovely set tomorrow and hopefully be able to post them in the interwebie. Been having a blast painting it and the Set Designer is crazy fun. (not to say I have meet a sane Set Designer, maybe that is why I like working with them) Anywho! I am going in for an hour painting like mad, then maybe going in for an hour at night if they have anything that needs to be done to the floor. I am also looking forward to cooking muffins and reading all morning! Tis crazy I only worked till 3 tonight and that was mostly because I couldn't start until after 11pm, and I will probably only work 3 hours tomorrow plus drive time to pick up some paint. The excitement of kind of sorting having the day off! Too we are going to have internet at our apartment soon, which is very exciting. I also just mail a B-day present which the receiver must call/e-mail after she has fully explored it (said person -you will understand this better when you receive it,) Ah life is good, which was an improvement from being in a mean mood due to a breaking benjamin's song, it wasn't the song really but it made me go into a guys are stupid angry that was not really direcrted at anyone. weird but now life is good and I am going to bed before the sunrises!

Happy Birthday Rachel!!

5:16am

So it is 5:16 in the morning and I just got home, this is freaking weird. I kind of want breakfast and am wondering if I should go to bed or make some eggs and pancakes. I have whipped cream and raspberry syrup. It would be a good breakfast. Though I should probably get some sleep so I am not crazy insane tomorrow. I feel like I would just hug everyone right now, I don't know if they put something funny in the mountain due or if it is the Thai ice tea that I drank but I feel giving out random hugs. Of course everyone is asleep and that is probably a good thing for we start tech on monday! Tomorrow all the designers come in. I am freaking out because I couldn't get a hold of my designer so some things I just had to guess on. oh well, we have a week to turn the mistakes around. Sleepy yet not, going to listen to music, addicted to In the Sun as in listen to it at least five times a day. I can't remember when I was that addicted to a song. mmm I should post lyrics maybe tomorrow spelling is going down the drain time for bed!!!

Normal Hours

I have been working somewhat normal hours, which I find very very weird. And of course by normal I mean going in for 8 hours a day not 9-6. Still going in at 1pm or 4pm and only staying 8 hours is pretty weird. The nice part is that I am getting to know the area. Found a good coffee place, looking into volunteering at the hospital and if I actually get a monday night off I might go take pictures at the skateboard park when they have BMX bike practice. Today I am going to go to the post office and mail a few things out, then see if I can apply for a library card. (Free books! happy dance) Which will be very good because I just finished the one I was reading. Other then that, and the scrubs marathon interjected with a firefly episode every now and then, my life has been filled with little explorations. Last week we meet our neighbors down stairs, two very nice guys. They said once the raining season ends it is beautiful here, and to be quite honest the raining season has not been that bad, basically about 4:30 it rains everyday for an hour, maybe a little bit more at night. Granted it is a huge downpour that you can barely see through but nothing too scary. Though I did have to drive Julia (my roommate) to her car one morning because rain was up to the crack in her door. Eh. I got to make Biscotti, mmmm so good and made the dough for gnocci but haven't made them yet. I ordered two books about paint faux finishes and they are pretty awesome. Some stuff I knew, some I didn't and some really won't work for theatre but can be adapted. It is exciting. Almost as exciting as creating a superlogo for Dave's Dog Henry! (Yes I did say superlogo and it maybe be yellow and will be put on a red water proof cape). The set is currently being put together on stage today and I get to play will it all night. Yippie! I might even have the weekend off which would be cool because I need to take random pictures of cows. Why you say. Well if you look up the lyrics to Cows with Guns, you will note the very strong urge to make a music video to this song. hehe cows with guns and really bad puns.

interweb and coffee

mwhwhwhwa I have internet. Being the fact that we are probably not going to get internet for a couple of weeks yet I thought I would spend my morning off trying to find internet. Well I gave up rather quickly and just buckled to buying it at the local McDonalds. However, now I can have found a couple of nicer places to use the internet which means I might be packging lunches so I can go out to these places a couple of times a week. Hmm having a wonderful time exploring the area and can't wait to go out and try all the thai/ sushi places. Also found a couple of awesome food stores. Plus have a new addiction called scrubs. mm it is very very bad. Miss people to talk to but hopefully with the phone now fixed I will be calling people more!

My apartment!

IMG_6834
Originally uploaded by iamakaya.

Last night I spent in my apartment! It is so pretty and there is a playground outside. I have yet to explore the grounds, planing on doing that today or tomorrow. I never expected to have so much stuff in the apartment. The company manager (Z.) said when he was unloadiing the tralier he got kind of carried away so we might have more stuff then we actually need. Sweetness. There will be three people staying in the apartment. My Dad was tired so I got behind the wheel after taking a two-hour nap. Now Georgia might be a very beautiful state but at night it all looks the same. Though sometimes when you are coming into a large city the lights reflect on the clouds like the dawn and you have to double-check the time. Also many of you may not be aware that in Georgia there is a county called Butts. Yes, Butts and you would be right in assuming that I started laughing when I saw this. Then I started laughing again at the fact that I am so childish to laugh at the word Butt. Then I started to bring up all kind of questions. Were the people of Butts ashamed of their county’s name; was it the Butt of all jokes? Do newscaster giggle when they announce a storm heading to Butts county? Or maybe the people of Butts are extremely mellow and roll with the punches, so even when asked is that one T or two they would proudly state with a hand on the hip two T’s because we are terrific! So many questions, it makes me wonder if I could even have the strength of being to live in Butts County. That is not the only thing I notice on the road, there also seems to be a lot of Waffle House restaurants. Seriously in Georgia there was one at every food exit. I believe it is some sort of conspiracy to take over Georgia. Think about it if they control all the exits they would just need to block them and then when the National Guard comes in they wouldn’t be able to get off until they were out of the state. Perhaps this is the lack of sufficient sleep talking but I like to believe otherwise.

Rachel and Matt

IMG_6751
Originally uploaded by iamakaya.

Wanted to post this photo caused I like it. It was a good cry, while swing life away was playing on my radio, then as several other songs played and I must admit I skipped to the songs that prolonged the tears. I am very happy to be driving by myself for the first hour and a half on the trip to Florida, because there will be much crying once I leave the state. I have never been good at good-byes. I make the worst out of the day when in reality it was one of the best days I have had in a long time. Mostly just because I had a strong feeling to just have fun all day and I did. I really can't remember when was the last time I thought I would have fun and did. Usually it just happens or if I think I will have fun then something negative that I never could have imaged happens. But none of that today. I started out with good music in the car and ending with good music on the way back. I got to go to places I have never been before, the Pancake house, ( there chocolate chip pancakes are like eating hot chocolate pancakes!) The Zoo which is free in Madison and has monkeys!!!!! and a badger which we called Bucky and were singing On Wisconsin to. Then we went to pick out movies, She's a Man (my pick) Fantasic 4 (greg's pick) and Nanny McPhee (anna's pick). After all the walking at the Zoo and Blockbuster we need to revive ourselves with Ben and Jerry's ice cream, Coffee buzz milkshake mmmmmm. Then back to the apartment to watch all three videos and eat pizza, salad and poppers. Going to Florida is scaring me more and more as I get ready to leave. Being so far away from friends doing a job I have never really done. Hurricane season with a possibility of flying alligators. Not to mention the huge realization that I am not returning to school and indeed have to behave somewhat like a grown up. That all my books will not be only a hours drive from where I live. That I do not have people I can just randomly show up at their house and they must take me in. I need to stop this list I am freaking myself out and there is no need to after such a nice day.

Milwaukee

So I have found that I am foud of many cities. In a way I like traveling. I went to milwaukee on Thursday for Italian night. once again we did not watch Italian footage nor did we look at Italian photographs. We did however eat lots of food including dessert: homemade biscotti, two kinds of ice cream, cake, all topped with two type of hot fudge sauce and carmel sauce. mmmm Spending the night because during the sugar high of the evening we discovered that I needed to be present for a photo shoot for my friend Jennifer. One for her women project, which is a black and white medium format shot from a twin reflex. Then a really crazy shoot by the lake on the rocks. Tis great fun and make me want to open up a studio with the two of them. It would be great, but they have to finish school and I just need to save up some money. Going back tonight to pick up some things from the lab that I left and to actually see photos from Italy.

Picture of the post

One Week

It is officially seven days before I leave Wisconsin. I have 148 pages before I finish Middlemarch and nine tracks left on my CD. It is a time of endings and beginnings. New state, new book and new Cd. Let's see what comes of these new things, some good some bad probably with a lot wonderful mixed in. After I get settle one of my first things is to find some where that has swimming lessons. How you forget that you own things, or that you once saved up weeks worth of paychecks for a device that now is collecting dust. Or perhaps a CD that is now digitally collecting dust on the old laptop that is collecting dust. When I look at everything I own I am kind of glad that it would all fit into a small room. Then again there are a lot of things that I just don't need any more. You also become aware of exactly how many stuffed animals you have. Or like right now how many cables to electronics devices that you save just in case. While there is some very cool things about sorting through all your earthly possessions, it also makes you feel like your life is a little messed up. Why haven't I used this cable with three prongs on one side and none of the other? Why is the fat cat plush toy sitting in a box? Why haven't I pulled out all my books to re-discover them? Is there something wrong with me that I do not fancy the music I once saved all my money to buy? Perhaps it is just my fickleness, I often feel I am amused by one thing only to be distracted by another, the never stable gypsy who wonders around the country not really on any quest. Perhaps Jung is getting to me and I am finding meaning in things that do not have it. The world is a curious place, thank goodness for monkeys.

Quote: If youth is the season of hope, it is often so only in the sense that our elders are hopeful about us; for no age is so apt as youth to think its emotions, partings, and resovles are the last of their kind.-- George Eliot- Middlemarch

Weird Week of Wakelessness

This week has been one of much sleep. One night I slept 12 hours, woke up ate and then slept until I took my little brother to go see Julius Ceaser at APT. I did stay awake for the drive out there and the play but had to stop and get coffee on the way home, even then I was struggling to stay awake come in after midnight and fell right to sleep. The next morning I woke up with more energy then I could imagine! I was hyper all morning until the afternoon then I went to a Hydra build night and felt sleepy most of the evening (maybe it was the glue?) After a very non taxing day and evening I went right to sleep. Then there was my brilliant plan to wake up earily and take a certain birthday girl for breakfast but ended up with me staying in bed until I need to go to madison to get my car fix. An adventure that lasted over 3 and half hours, during which I read and tried not to fall asleep in the Saturn waiting room. Good grief I am becoming old. While all of this sleepness has hinder my ability to see people and pack, it has allowed me to read far more then I have been able too. I am loving the two books I am reading Middlemarch by George Eliot which I recommend to everyone even though it is almost 800 pages. And A Man and his symbols, a book on Jung editted by Jung. The are both so very enlightening, not on the sleep issue but life in general. Feeling the need to sleep again I am going to drink my tea and read.

Breakfast outside

It is not every day that you end up in Spring Green but I have to say out of all the towns in the world it makes me feel at home. I decided against better judgement to drive to Spring Green at around 9:30pm. Having no schedule will do that to you. I park my car and walk towards the town bar, always an awkward feeling to walk into a crowd bar alone. But no fear for as I am about to reach the door Rory Horken deck chief comes out and gives me a hug. And that is how most of the night went, except I gave my "husband" Wanye a kiss because he was celebrating his birthday. It was nice to just sit down and talk with friends (and to be called hot by a little tipsy Jim D.) The night continue on to Leah's house where people were randomly being pulled from the crowd to do body shots. I tried to contain my "excitement" or rather the "you are not getting me to do that" and with SDH retreated to the outdoors. In all it was an evening of some great conversations. One ending with Stacey and I falling asleep in her car downtown Spring Green. I have to say though I would take conversations to fall asleep by to body shots any day. The best part was after Stacey and I got up we decided we were hungry but could not figure out where to go expect for in Madison. After a long debate and deciding we were to hungry to wait for the drive to Madison and then finding food, we decided to go to the store and make breakfast. It was here we learned that Stacey and I should never go food shopping hungry. 85 dollars later with have everything we need for coffee, orange juice, eggs with lots of different veges, homefries and pancakes: chocolate chip and walnut. We decided to go to the convent to cook our breakfast so we could share with the people there. And yes it took two and half hours from when we decided this would be faster then going to madison, but eating with breakfast with seven friends is really priceless. Not to mention we ate outside because it was beautiful, where more conversation came into being. After much coffee and way to much food (by the way chocolate chip pancakes with walnuts with Raspberry syrup the best thing ever) My day is finally starting at well close to four. Who knows what tonight might bring.

New Life

You every wake up and just feel different, prehaps because something just happen like a birthday, or maybe you are catching a cold. Today was one of those days except I do not believe I have a cold nor was it just my birthday, but I do feel different. My mind is filling with adventures, some small like making corn soup, other's large like flying to random cities around the world. Then there are the medium ones like going to see the mississippi river on Monday. Or at least that is what I am thinking about doing since I have never seen the mississippi. Right now though I am taken on the very exciting adventure of processing digital photos. Yippie!
